About

The Full Story

Resilient Diamonds Alliance was born from a simple yet powerful idea: that within every individual—especially those navigating adversity—lies the strength of a diamond: resilient, radiant, and unbreakable.

What began as a small circle of support has blossomed into a statewide movement of healing, empowerment, and transformation. Founded by Kendra Jenkins, Marie Covington, Dea Williams and LaTonja Cummings-Harris, the Alliance emerged in response to the unmet needs of young women and historically underserved communities across Alabama. These were individuals facing trauma, poverty, systemic barriers, and a lack of access to culturally competent care and opportunity.

From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to foster resilience, self-worth, and economic independence through holistic, trauma-informed programming. We believe that healing and empowerment are not luxuries—they are necessities. And they must be accessible to all.

Our journey has been shaped by the voices of those we serve. Through mentorship and support circles, trade skills exploration, academic and career readiness, and financial empowerment, we’ve created spaces where people can reclaim their stories, build confidence, and chart new paths forward.

We’ve grown through community partnerships, grassroots leadership, and the unwavering belief that transformation is possible when people are seen, heard, and supported. From launching Alabama’s first Women’s Empowerment Summit to building a mentorship network that reaches hundreds, we are creating a sanctuary of strength, dignity, and opportunity.

This is more than a nonprofit. It’s a movement. A sisterhood. A call to rise.

We invite you to join us—because when we rise together, we shine brighter than ever.
